Lion Works

The works comprise the construction of a new roof to the Lion Works to replace the existing fire damaged structure. The building is derelict and poses considerable hazards to any construction activity. Work involved will include:-
The removal of vegetation to allow an access scaffolding to be erected.
The organisation of a Refurbishment and Demolition Asbestos Survey with the subsequent removal of any asbestos containing materials identified. The removal of the existing fire damaged roof, installation of new replacement roof structure and covering, associated flashings, soffits, fascias and rainwater goods. The treatment of the existing steel columns. The construction of a block wall to act as underpinning, rebuilding areas of unstable brick walls, chimneys and re-pointing to some other areas.
